the project

Stacker/reclaimer drive and control system. The system comprises of a Single Boom Stacker/Reclaimer designed to form the stockpile or reclaim the stockpiled material. Travel bogies are inverter controlled to move the stacker/reclaimer along the inclined track, positioning the unit for the next layer. Regenerative inverters control the speed of slewing, power feedback from the bucketwheel drive, controls the speed of slewing depending on cut depth and material.

the solution

The system includes Siemens 8BF00 medium voltage switchgear. Three Yaskawa inverters with dynamic braking control the speed and position of the Stacker/Reclaimer. Siemens Masterdrive inverters fed from a regenerative common DC link control the speed and position Slew.

A Siemens PCS7 PLC together with S7-300 remote I/O, operators cab, control desks and machine mounted operator stations control the sequencing of the stacker/reclaimer.

Our project also included the LV MCC, auxiliary power and lighting panels.
