the project
Three Car Dumper Systems.
Each system comprises of a Positioner and Dumper designed to continuously unload coal trains comprising of up to 200, 80 tonne rail cars.
the solution
The Positioner moves the whole train including the locomotives, positioning the next three full rail cars in the Dumper, whilst pushing the three empty rail cars out. The Dumper then unloads the three rail cars by rotating them through 160° without uncoupling from the train. Each Dumper has a total capacity of 22 million tonnes of coal per annum.
Each system includes Siemens AFE fully regenerative Masterdrive Inverters, Rockwell ControLogix PLC’s, Phoenix Remote I/O, control desks and operator stations to control the sequencing of each Dumper system.
Our project also included engineering design for the MCC, Auxiliary Power and Lighting Panels.
